It seems like a
lifetime has passed since Silent No More was published. I’ve been
busy speaking to groups, promoting understanding about domestic
violence and how victims can find help through organizations like
yours, having a baby, watching him grow, and now I’m planning to
organize survivors of domestic violence across the state and filling up
my 2008-2009 schedule, and I would love to speak to your organization.
Some of the topics I can cover are as follows:
Work with
victims/survivors to offer encouragement and hope that they, too, can
survive and thrive, emphasizing the importance of recovery to living a
healthy, happy life.
Tell my story
to those who have not experienced domestic violence to help them
understand what goes on in the minds of victims that makes them stay
and often even return to an abusive relationship.
Explain how
others helped me both while I was in the relationship and after I
escaped offering advice to friends, family and acquaintances who ask
how they can help.
Workshop with
a group of survivors or community members to come up with strategies
for increasing awareness and decreasing domestic violence in our
communities.

Domestic Violence for emphasis. I will also have it
available for sale and would be happy to offer a discount to your
